What makes you different?
We have several things that are beyond important to us. Photo quality, assisting you and your family/friends to be present during moments, and communication basically sum it up. We provide information every step of the way to help you design your day as perfectly as possible. We don’t want you to be checking off items on a list or worrying about things on your day! Ask us more about our unique way of helping you be connected!

What is required to book my date?
We require 50% down along with your signed online contract to book the date. The final 50% is due 30 days prior to the wedding date. Make payments as you go or just the two… totally up to you.

Do you travel or do destination weddings?
Yes! We kinda LOVE new places and new things! We have done road trips for close destinations and even fly out of the county. If you have a destination wedding you are looking for a photographer for…Lets talk!

When can we see our photos?
Weddings- 4-6 weeks

Everything else – 2-3 weeks

We will have all your wedding photos edited and uploaded to our online gallery within 4-6 weeks of your event. We will send you an email with a link to your gallery the minute they are ready. This gallery is something you can share with family. Download and print away! You won’t have to worry about getting a CD or USB to grandma or your aunt or mom. But if you want a USB we totally have them, they are customized with your names and/or wedding date, it really is a great way to keep your photos.

Do I get all of the high- resolution edited photos?
Yes! All of our weddings and sessions include your high-resolution, edited images. We really want you to have your photos!

Can I upload my photos to social media?
Yes! We love Facebook and Instagram. As stated in our contract, you may use your photos for personsal use only. If you want to share them, we love that and we really appreciate photo credit. How can you add photo credit? Put our website in the comments or add something like “we love our engagement photos done by Heather Johnston Photography”. Easy as that.

What should we wear or bring to our engagement or portrait session?
Whatever you do, please don’t wear matching white shirts and jeans. Matching is very dated, think coordinating instead. Wear something awesome. Go buy a new outfit you feel comfortable in and it makes you feel like amazing in your skin. We provide you with an extensive email outlining all the need to know details of engagement sessions prior to scheduling your photos. We want you to be as prepared as possible and we do several things to take the awkward out of the session! Just be ready to have fun!

What kind of cameras do you have?
2 Canon 5d Mark IIIs with many Canon L lenses and Sigma Art lenses. We also use off camera flash in the evening or dim lighting situations. We have a variety of gear and plenty to be able to keep going if something happens.

Can I have or see all of the unedited photos you took at our wedding?
Sorry! We don’t release any unedited photos, ever. But don’t worry, we give you the very best ones and trash all the photos you may not look your best.

How many wedding photos will I get?
A minimum of 60 photos from your portrait session (engagements/bridals/families). A minimum of 500 images from your wedding day. We say that to be safe, but it usually ends up being way more! …and it depends on how many hours of coverage you have…

How many hours do you work on the wedding day?
Up to 9 hours. Anything past that, we are kinda useless. LOL We do make exceptions,  for example, weddings that have a 1 hour ceremony or more. We really aren’t useless but we are exhausted.

Will we have 2 photographers on the wedding day?
Unless you have a small wedding, 2 photographers are always highly recommended, including destination weddings. Having 2 photographers helps to tell a more complete story of your day and allows us to capture way more spontaneous and authentic moments!

What do you charge?
Prices will vary depending on what your wedding package contains. Fill out our inquiry form and we’ll see if we’re a good fit for what you’re looking for. We are quick to get back to you with pricing. We know that matters!

Do you offer albums?
Of course! Our albums take approximately 4-6 weeks to complete. These albums are custom-designed by us and hand crafted by the best album company in the nation…and totally worth the wait! LOVE THEM! We love flipping through our grandparents and parents albums and have already watched our kids joyfully flip through ours, what an amazing treasure to have. That’s one of my priceless items I’m grabbing if the house ever catches on fire!
